I am generally very “live and let live“ about these things on an individual basis, and the furthest thing from anti-femininity. I literally don’t own pants, nor do I ever intend to, for example. I respect that some women prefer to wear make up for whatever reason, and that deciding whether you do it for yourself or because of patriarchal beauty standards is a very case-by-case thing. Some people do the soul-searching and come out the other end with the knowledge that they ARE doing it for themselves!
But… Reading Internet discourse about whether women should have to wear make up at work is making me want to bite and tear and rend
“it makes you look more polished! It makes you look more put together! It looks like you’re taking care of yourself and taking your job seriously!“ WHY. Please explain to me WHY women look like we ~aren’t taking care of ourselves~ if we don’t slap extra goop on our faces every morning. Give me a succinct reason that makes sense and doesn’t rely on the assumption that make up is somehow a natural state of womankind
And then explain why the same thing doesn’t hold true for men
(TERFS get lost)

also. I would like to make a post about the weirdest procedures or products that people are desperately trying to get in order to remain young. so scary. salmon sperm on your face. are we fucking fr. when was the last time you got your moles checked for cancer instead. but I mean- we have people using diabete medicines without a second thought to get skinny, so I wouldn’t say that health is the main concern here.
and I have to tell you people. I don’t give a fuck about sunscreen if I’m not at the beach. bye.

Skincare tips
sleep as much as you possibly can
avoid touching your face, clean your phone regularly, change towels and pillowcases regularly.
find a gentle cleanser that does not disrupt the skin barrier
RETINOL !!!!!
Dr Dennis Gross peel pads are the holy grail! they will transform your skin
Effaclar Duo with Spf by La Roche Posay : unclogs, gets rid of impurities and helps with sun protection.
SPF every 2 hours, tinted SPF is better at preventing hyperpigmentation since it has higher coverage.
Biafine after Cosmetic procedures or Lasers or sunburns, it will calm the skin down in a day and prevent a sensitive reaction. reapply every 3 hours if possible.
eat a healthy diet
Wear sunglasses outside always
organic skin care products are a scam
eat Sardines, they are the best source of Vitamin A there is, I know it may be gross but it will give you glossy skin.
Drink 2 litres of water a day

Stopped by Ulta for the first time to find a new sunscreen without shea. I downloaded the Skinsort app which was super helpful and the people there were also eager to help. They said I could try it out and return it for a full refund if it didn’t work out for me. They said it was a 30 day window but I wasn’t super eager to do multiple trips so I lathered it on in the parking lot and took Mandana for a decompression walk. So far so good. It’s lightly tinted but in person it’s still a little dark for my current skin tone (the white cast ones would probably work better at this point 😂) I got a couple different options so I’ll do swatches for you soon :)

More people should start using umbrellas not just when it's raining but also when the sun is shining. No, not for the "aesthetic" but to protect yourselves from the UV rays that take only 15 minutes to cause damage to your body.

on the one hand skin care routines and products can become something to obsess over and that’s not good for a plethora of reasons mostly revolving around how the industry preys upon your insecurities
on the other hand developing a skin care routine that focuses on it as a self care process can help with one’s mental health by showing to yourself that you’re worth the time and effort to take care of yourself
like all things in life, balance is key

Easy Twofer 👟
I could still feel Monday's run, so I took it easy and kept it short today. But my pace was chill enough that I ran both miles non-stop, so that's good! I don't always need to be pushing myself to the brink, especially in this weather.
It was significantly cooler out this morning, but I still sweat buckets because of the humidity. And it's supposed to be in the hundreds again all week.
My dermatologist recommended mineral sunscreen, so I tried it, and I have a reaction to it. It gives me an itchy, 3 day rash! So I'm back on the regular junk. I like the Neutrogena sunscreen though, it feels nice on the skin.
Does anyone else have a sensitivity to mineral sunscreen? Any recommendations? 🤠

I feel like the people making those sunscreen defense posts are simply not inhabiting the same internet I am or something. Sunscreen is good to prevent cancer yes, but women on tiktok are saying you need to wear sunscreen to your windowless office job so you don’t get wrinkles. And are also saying you need to buy the most expensive sunscreen to do this every day. And also are only putting sunscreen on their face to avoid wrinkles and sunspots. This is so prevalent that there are already memes about skin quality on people’s (women’s) faces vs on the rest of their entire body.
Like I am not advocating for no sunscreen ever but forgive me if I think people can probably afford to go out most days without sunscreen on their face or body since most people are not spending much time outside most days. Forgive me if I think it’s a little ridiculous that women specifically have been targeted with this intense fear mongering, but not so much that we are telling women to wear practical clothing covering most skin when they are going to be outdoors. Only just enough that they should buy one more product at a dramatic markup and use it religiously while changing nothing else about their habits

Hey (●’◡’●)ノ so there's something I'm trying to figure out, when I'm out and need to reapply sunscreen, how do I do that over my makeup? Is there a particular product or method? Thank you! Xx
Hi love! Great question. The method I recommend using is taking your face sunscreen (tinted or regular that doesn't leave a white/discoloration) and reapplying it with a makeup blending sponge (like Beauty Blender or a cheaper version with the same shape).
If you want to use a specific product, I would recommend an SPF spray like the Soleil Toujours Set + Protect Makeup Setting Spray SPF 30 with Hyaluronic Acid. Another option is a powder containing SPF. I would recommend the Supergoop! 100% Mineral (Re)setting Powder SPF 35, as I believe it's the best value option (however, it only comes in 4 shades).
Hope this helps xx

A lot of skin care stuff is bs, but please wear sunscreen if you will be spending a lot of time outdoors, no matter the weather or your complexion. Skin cancer is no joke

the thing abt skin care that sucks is that you truly cannot get multiple benefits from one product which is incredibly annoying when you like things simple as possible. especially frustrating when you have combination skin. AND youre fucking broke
